If you find your computer is suddenly generating warning messages and telling you that your computer is infected with spyware that is enough to make you panic into taking immediate action to fix this. If the error is being generated by software and telling you that you need to upgrade to the full version immediately to fix this problem you may just do this without realizing that the error messages you see are fake.
This is what happens with some types of malware. If you find these errors on your computer and they are being generated by something called XP security you need to get rid of the X security 2011 malware quickly to stop these errors and to protect it from a real virus attack.
Here is what you need to do if you see sudden error messages warning you that your computer security is under attack and you cannot close them.
#1 Start task manager. You can either do this by right clicking on the task bar and selecting task manager or by pressing the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys together. Once task manager opens search for the following files in the processes tab. One or both of them may be there.
#1 MSASCui.exe#2 PW.EXEStop these by clicking on them and then by clicking on end process in task manager. If you find they will not stop or that task manager will not open this means the malware is preventing this. If it is you will usually find the message is followed by a warning that task manager is infected with a virus, this warning is fake and you need to go to the next step.
#2 you need to start your computer in safe mode. To do this turn your computer on and press the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly before the windows start up screen appears. Eventually you will see a list of different windows start up options on your screen. Select safe mode with networking. Once you are in safe mode open task manger and ensure these two processes are not running, if they are stop them.
#3 Once you have stopped these processes find and delete the following files.MSASCui.exeMSASCuiXP security 2011XP total security 2011#4 Once you have done this start the registry editor. To do this go to the windows start menu, then run and type in regedit and press ok. Once it starts search for and delete the following entries.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\pezfile
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\pezfile
Search for and change the value for the following entries from 1 to zero.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center "AntiVirusOverride" = "1″
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center "FirewallOverride" = "1″
Once you have done this restart your PC and you should find you have managed to get rid of XP security 2011. If you find it is still there you need to use the next step to remove it.
#5 Automatic removal method to get rid of this malware. Download a system scanner and perform a full system scan on your computer. This will go through all the steps listed above automatically and help you to get rid of XP security 2011 quickly.
