VIDEO: Dead Rising 2: Off The Record is the sequel we’ve all been waiting for Posted: 12 Apr 2011 01:45 PM PDT Ever wondered what the sequel to Dead Rising would have been like if Frank West was the star? Well wonder no more because Capcom is finally delivering. Better late than never, right? Don’t get me wrong; the original Dead Rising 2 was a fine game, with many noteworthy improvements over its predecessor. The fact that I could finally read the damn text on my lowly SD television was a victory in itself. But I too couldn’t gel with the new hero, Chuck Greene, like everyone else. And that last bit of DLC that brought the two together was an instance of too little, too late. Hence why the following is such awesome news… Nice to know that Capcom is having fun with the alternate take, as do the very best “What If”s from Marvel Comics back in the day used to as well. The gist of the plot goes something like this: Frank was a celebrated hero for saving the day in part one, and became a big-time star as a result. Even got his own talk show! But you know what they say about fame, and after his fifteen minutes were up, Frank found himself dead broke and completely irrelevant. So what's a former celeb do to for some much needed attention? Join a reality show of course… the same one that Chuck was part of in the original DR2. But instead of riding a bike around with two chainsaw connected to the steering column, Frank body slams his hapless zombie victims. Apparently, much of what happened before happens again, just differently, and naturally Frank will have his own take on how to solve problems. There’s also a host of tweaks and the such, which have yet to be revealed. And you can bet $20 that the star from before will have some kind of a return. |
The Justin Bieber/Benjamin Netanyahu feud the world has waited for Posted: 12 Apr 2011 01:30 PM PDT It’s like Biggie and Tupac all over again: Justin Bieber is making a trip to Israel for a concert Thursday night. But his scheduled meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been submarined after Bieber’s reps requested that child victims of Gaza rockets not be in attendance. The children Netanyahu’s team had booked for the meeting were victims of a Palestine rocket attack on their school bus near the Gaza Strip. But, according to Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz, Bieber’s reps declined to meet the injured children, leading to Netanyahu to cancel the meeting all together. I did public relations in my previous life so, on some level, I get the idea that Bieber’s reps don’t want him to be a part of something as politically divisive as the neverending wars in the Middle East; Michael Jordan famously once said, regarding why he abstains from political involvement, that “Republicans buy shoes, too.” But there’s a bit of a difference between a desire to avoid politically divisive career moves and not wanting to bring joy to some kids who just got blasted like they were in a particularly heated game of “Call of Duty”. Plus, Bieber Fever or not, I sincerely doubt the PLOs are blaring “Baby” or lining up for his album. If there’s any audience you could not worry about alienating, lil guy, I’d say it’s them.
