VIDEO: The UK press still hates the 3DS Posted: 18 Apr 2011 02:51 PM PDT Nintendo’s 3D-riffic handheld has been out in the US for a little while, and thus far, there have been no widespread reports of migraines or nose-bleeds. But apparently, it’s a different story in the jolly old England. You know, it’s stuff like that which makes our Fox News look like a legit news organization. Again, I’m of the firm belief that any potential damage harm that the system could do to people’s eyes.. especially those belonging to little kids, since their eyes are still being developed… has been undercut by the fact how we’re all going blind anyway due to all the computer monitors and cell phone screens we stare at. Besides, I dig girls with glasses, so I’ll all for all sorta going blind! BTW, for bonus laughs, be sure to check out the YouTube comments, which I will not repeat hear due to the foul language. Man, British people sure love the “c” word! Anyhow, the Sun, give us a call when the 3DS does the following… 3DS ‘makes you sick’ panic story hits television [Destructoid] |
Reds pitcher Mike Leake arrested for stealing $60 in clothes Posted: 18 Apr 2011 02:42 PM PDT Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mike Leake was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of theft at Macy’s. The grand total of the heist was $59.98, which included six American Rag T-shirts from the store. Police said the incident was caught on security cameras at the Downtown Macy’s. The theft is listed as a misdemeanor. Cincinnati police didn’t immediately respond to e-mails asking for more information about Leake’s arrest. The theft charge carries a maximum jail term of 180 days. Leake is making $425,000 in salary this year so he’s either one cheap bastard or some kind of kleptomaniac. For what it’s worth, the Reds organization, at this time, have no comment on the matter but considering it just happened a few hours ago, I’m guessing they’re desperately scrambling to find the team psychiatrist. I can’t assume that when they drafted him in 2009, one of the psychological screening questions asked was “would you steal $60 bucks in t-shirts at the local Macy’s”? |

VIDEO: Justin Verlander commits the best balk you will ever see Posted: 18 Apr 2011 01:55 PM PDT There are a few things you need to know about Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander to fully understand this clip. As a right-hander, he has an incredible move to first base and often catches runners’ napping. Secondly, his games tend to go by very fast because he rarely waits more than a few seconds between pitches. Both those are contributing factors to what I’m calling, “the balk of the century”. Watch as Verlander steps off the mound but then inexplicably throws towards home plate and almost drills the A’s David DeJesus. Here’s Justin’s explanation as to what happened: “I went to go pick one and I didn’t get my body turned,” Verlander said. “The way I thought — and this was all in milliseconds — if I just throw it home, they won’t call anything. In other words–he had a massive brain fart, panicked, and just threw the ball at home hoping no one would notice. Well done Justin, well done. |
