I finally purchased a La Mer wrap watch! (Read
this post to understand the obsession.) It's super super delightful — there's a wishbone, peace sign, bird, feather and Native-American-Man's-Head charm.
I also found this amazing fabric at school — it's silk or something similar, and has this cartoony fish print on it. I'm going to make a gathered skirt with a wrapped scarf-like waistband out of it. Here's what I've got so far:

I gathered and sewed the top. |
I was on the subway this afternoon, and this sterling woman got on. Let's call her Wanda. It was unusually crowded (I'm sure 90% of the people on there felt violated), so this guy accidentally hit Wanda with his backpack and she said super loudly,
"Damn, you got a baby in there or something?"
After lots of awkward tittering and the obnoxious snorting of myself, Wanda stated,
"Someone's touching my butt!"
It was actually this little kid. He was short and Wanda-butt height, so he couldn't help it what with all the crowdedness. Then Wanda went on to loudly tell her friend about a guy named Puffy and how it was his birthday a week ago. I think I'm gonna name my kid Puffy.
New York rocks.
Speaking of New York (props to myself for a GREAT SEGUE), my dad got me the New York Magazine Look Book. It's basically a compilation of street style shots taken in New York Mag's mini sidewalk studios set up in Soho, Nolita and other gentrified areas of New York.
What I don't get though, is why Kay Goldberg is on the cover.
