I can get another 512 MB stick for free so I will try that first, if that's not enough I could always add a 1 GB stick later on. I've ordered the Samsung hard drive and a spudger to open it up.
I've tried MacTubes and it runs fine, but I really like being able to play videos in the browser and read the comments directly under the videos.
I hope this makes it feel a bit more responsive, because it's still very usable for internet and word processing. For serious work I have an iMac so it's mainly a second machine.

Nah, it's just like your Congress being split 215 apiece after a straightforward election count with 5 Independents from rural Minnesota and Wyoming suddenly in the position to demand pork barrelling to the max to negotiate which of the two big parties will actually control the House and run the govt. They're basically sitting on Santa's knee with their long lists of wishes for their constituents which the two big Parties will outdo each other to grant (thereby guaranteeing these Independents will get relected next time as well), which the rest of us common schmucks will have to pay for now...
And seeing as our nation's leader is the leader of the party controlling the House of Representatives, we don't gots no Prime Minister at the moment until they do pork barrel these Independents to get their support. The place seems to be running just fine so far this week without one. ;)

To the OP: maybe a cheaper method-- cut down on the aforementioned beverages and use teeth whitening toothpaste as well as whitening strips. I know that when I have tried Crest Whitestrips I could see a noticeable difference only using one strip a day after 3 measly days! It's much cheaper and you won't feel as bad if you do slip up and drink the yummy-teeth stainers. :p
5 - Allen Iverson LiveITASOR, the lines you see when you put other LCDs on the wrong refresh rate: do they _really_ look like the alternate 1 pixel wide static horizontal lines on the PBs?
I only ask, because the PBs also show a variety of wider horizontal "interference" banding and wavy dynamic diagonal banding in some colours, which is worse in the top left of the screen. And I wonder if this is what you refer to.

Personally, I think it's a refresh rate issue which I think is a software issue. If I put any of my LCDs on the wrong refresh rate, they have identical lines to those of the powerbook.

Very few want to play cat-and-mouse this way for long since they aren't able to use the forums as other users do. No doubt there are some re-registrants who haven't been caught, but there's not much we can do about that. There will always be immature users and we'll always need to rely on forum users to report their inappropriate posts, but the job of the moderators is to minimize the problems they cause for other users.

The only caveat I know of is that you MIGHT need a Windows box in order to run the configuration software... I have my Mac mini connected through my MN-700, but I handle all of the router configuration on one of my Windows PCs.

I plan on buying the phone at the no-commit price so I want to make sure I don't get there and they say they are only selling to people who are upgrading or new 2 year contracts.

Likewise, I'm nearing the end of Zelda and looking for something else to try. I've had a look at the Wii selections and haven't found much to tempt me.
I was really hoping the Wii would induce some original games, but by and large it seems to be attracting ports from other consoles with scaled down graphics and the control system tacked on.

I had one dead pixel on my old Sony Vaio which was stuck bright and it was really annoying, even on a 1024x768 11" screen. That one doesn't seem nearly as bad.
Apple is not going to replace it with one bad pixel...
