Probably not. If your iPhoto library is anything like my iPhoto library -- it would eat up 1/2 of a 256 gig SSD. Same with my iTunes library. And my movies folder.
So your iPhoto library will have to be on the platter drive.
Same people who talk about their "tons of Aperture work with RAW files" -- well those files wont be fitting on a 256 gig SSD.

Agreed, I had missed what the app was about. I don't see anything in the desired feature list that can't be implemented as a plain old mobile-optimized website. Basically all a native app would be doing anyway is retrieving that information from the web and displaying it in a webview.

Terrell OwensI am looking to share some photos and get a blog online and I can't decide what the best way to do this would be. I appolagize for the long post but I am trying to be thorough in giving you my thinking my thinking. I'll try to be organized to make up for it.
Background:
Next year I am going to be studying abroad in Europe for two semesters and would like to tell people back home in the states how things are going. I have minimal html/webpage experience, limited time to learn stuff and mess around with it and and money is tight. I have also never done any blogging before and am very unlikely to make good use of it.
Usage/what I am looking for:
1)A simple blog to tell family and friends (that includes you guys if you want) how things are going and about any adventures I might have.
2)Host a couple hundred pictures, organized in albums, for people to look at and have them available to download at full resolution, taken with a 5mp camera. My mom is big on pictures so this is mostly for her, she also likes to print them which is why they need to be full rez.
3) Easy to navigate. The audience for this will be several computer illiterite people and some on 56k modems so posted pictures need to be thumbnails with links to the originals.
4) Easy to deploy. I have a full coursload at school, a job and something resembling a social life so I I don't have hours to update it (initial settup can be slow as I don't need it up an running for a month or two).
5) CHEAP, in fact free unless I think there is no possible other way.
My options: These are the possiblities that I have been considering.
1) The ultimate solution would be something like fotki.com as it has photo hosting/printing/linking and a journal all on one website with an easy interface. However it costs $50 a year and that is more than I can afford.
2)Get things from separate places. Get a blog like blogger (http://www.blogger.com) and find someplace to host pictures, maybe one of those online printing places like Snapfish so that I get unlimited free storage.
3) Make my own website. Here I have two sub options.
a) I have 100Mb of non scriptable webspace on a webdav server through my university that I could use. Picture storage would be limited but that might be ok.
b) I have a Digital Audio G4 tower running Panther that I currently use as a printserver. I could easily demilitarize it on our router and use something like no-ip to access it. Pros being unlimited completely customizeable space, cons being it is more work and I will not have physical access to it when over seas so if something goes wrong it will be vary hard to fix because I would have to talk one of my family trough fixing it.
The ability to download in full rez is probably the least important as I can find other ways of getting those to my mom.
So, what would you do in my situation, remember time and money are the deciding factors here, don't have much of either. Any feedback is greatly appriciated.

Second the benefits and hands on training is incredible and they use you and train you so that you will be ready to work at 1 Infinity Loop or Maden, NC at the billion dollar facility. Plus they give you all the training in the world to be a teacher, educate another, work for other companies using Mac products and the list goes on and on. Yes they have an intense application process but once you're in with Apple you connections will never seise to grow. The atmosphere as well is fun, exciting and different than any other store.

I've learned over time that zooming is really something you shouldn't do often. So many people think they can make amazing videos by zooming in and out all the time when really the zooming just hurts them. The panning and tilting was nice but needs to be much smoother and also I'd recommend not using copyrighted music without the proper permissions.

Can you actually do me a favor? On your computer, locate this file:
/library/logs/console/501/console.log
This is a file into which log information is written by the system continuously whenever it is on and you are logged in. Can you put it to sleep, and then wake it in the manner which causes your kb to not work? Then look at this file. What we're interested in is whatever is entered in the log immediately during sleep onset and then waking and up to the time that your kb starts working again... it might help explain this. If you can get that part and post it here, it might help.
Otherwise, you might also try standard things such as repairing permissions, and so on, but I'm not sure if they will help or not. :( It could be that a botched permission on a kernel extension or something else needed to activate the KB again is causing the delay.

That's really my point.
The point could be more accurately said with something other than "this is Apple's Vista." If it was Apple's Vista, no one would be buying it.
When any naysayer decides to call virtually every product Apple produces since Vista "Apple's Vista," then the metaphor has jumped the shark.
But few Apple products in the last decade have had so many highly publicized issues as iPhone 4
We're also talking about iOS4 on the iPhone 3G here, not the iPhone 4.

5 Stages of Terrell OwensI have a linksys Wireless Access point on my network that I have had for a few months. I just purchased a Airport Express for printing and it was a pain to get working with the Linksys.
I tried to get CompUSA to let me exchange the Linksys AP for the Airport, but they wouldn't. In my opinion I would have perfered to pay the extra $$ for the Airport then waste a day trying to get the Airport Express to work with the Linksys AP.
If you do go Linksys I would get the WRT54G because you can get 3rd part firmware for it that is much better then what Linksys has.

Terrell OwensI see a lot of posts saying they'll wait for OS X Lion to come preloaded in the 2011 iMac before buying.
If you are doing this are you willing to wait another 4 months for this to happen?
Apple (and other companies) have been known to stretch out release dates to the end of a season or quarter. September 5 being seen as the end of Summer in the US leads me to believe Lion will be released around that time.
The time frame is based on conjecture of a worst case scenario.

Does do a what i want but removing my floats kinda makes a gap between the nav and sub nav. Though adding in some floats makes the sidebar move again so i'll need to sort out this gap.
You should be able to manage the gap with appropriate margin/padding on elements. I rarely find a need for floats. They have their uses of course, but I just tend not to use them preferably. It was probably caused by all of those IE6 float issues.
Anyways, if you update your demo page and explain the gap more precisely I can try to help you figure out a solution.
DiskWarrior worked for me where Disk Utility failed.
you make a device that streams media from your mac to your tv .. and you dont call it iTV ..you call is apple tv! .. cuz callign it iTV would be too easy ..
