An animal welfare organisation has offered a naked ad campaign for model Poonam Pandey, who has vowed to bare all if India wins the World Cup.
Poorvi Joshipura, Chief Functionary of PETA India has requested Ms Pandey “consider stripping for a good cause” and help PETA call on the International Cricket Council to opt for synthetic balls over leather ones.
The organisation says that synthetic balls are not only kinder to animals, but also safer for the environment. With the technology available today, they can be made durable, water resistant, and customised to meet players’ needs.
In a letter to Ms Pandey, Ms Joshipura wrote: “I can see from your vow to bare all if India wins the World Cup that you are comfortable in your own skin and are a cricket fan. Wonder if you would consider using your skin to save animals’ skins in an ad for PETA."
