| VIDEO: Modern Warfare 3 trailer will make you wish it was Nov 8 Posted: 23 May 2011 08:18 PM PDT Modern Warfare 3 is here. Well, the full trailer is here anyway, and it’s going to make folks wish that November 8 was a little closer than it is, because the game looks SICK. (It will also make your significant other say, “Baby! What the hell is that noise??!?” but that’s neither here, there, nor unexpected.) The game preview, as far as I can tell, dropped earlier during the Mavs-Thunder game. It also, I can confirm, scared several dogs and made new Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder get kind of pumped up. As to the game itself, it appears to be the most realistic and intense version to date, and will have single-person players roaming the globe, with battles in America, England, Germany and France. |

| Audio: Jim Leyland has epic rant about fans, radio talk show hosts Posted: 23 May 2011 03:56 PM PDT Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland has had it with fans second guessing some of his decisions lately. Yesterday, with the Tigers up 2-0 and Rick Porcello pitching an absolute gem of one-hit ball against the Pirates, Leyland pulled him after the 8th inning in favor of closer Jose Valverde. They went on to win the game but not without a few tense moments. The talk in the post-game on 97.1 The Ticket was the controversial decision Leyland made. Today, Jeff Riger, a radio host with the station asked him about the second guessing and the Wizard of Woodward unleashed a tirade that’s worth listening to. It should be noted that this is only an excerpt of the entire tirade. He unleashed a few more f-bombs and really seemed to have a personal issue with Riger. Riger: The reason I asked the question was because today fans were second-guessing you even though you did win and I just wanted to know what you thought … Leyland: What do you want me to do about it? Riger: I just wanted you to comment and you did, so I appreciate it. Leyland: I commented on it. I don’t blame the fans for second-guessing it. What else do you want me to say? I don’t blame the fans for second-guessing that move. I said it yesterday in my press conference. I explained why I did it. I explained that I didn’t blame them for second-guessing, so what else do you want me to do? What do you want me to say? That I wish I had not done it? No, I’m glad I did it. And I’ll do it again tonight if we have the same (expletive) situation if I think it gives us the best (expletive) chance to win the (expletive) game. Are there any other questions?

| VIDEO: Further examples of super stylish & embarrassing game playing Posted: 23 May 2011 03:34 PM PDT Hey, remember that post in which I passed along the cooler than cool dude playing House of the Dead at the arcades? Guess what; he has a brother that loves Pop ‘N Music... The game btw can be best described as a somewhat kiddie-like version of Beammania (think a Japanese version of DJ Hero, just with lots and lots of J-pop). But as you can see above, it’s quite obviously a man’s game! Speaking of men, I also provided a counterpoint last time, and here we have the anthesis of masculinity; someone’s dad playing Just Dance 2 in the basement… The Heroes of Arcade Insanity [Kotaku] |
