| Master Chief doesn’t want to hang with Marcus Fenix Posted: 05 May 2011 01:05 AM PDT The dude from Halo is apparently too good for the dude in Gears of War, or so says the dude behind Gear, Cliff Bleszinski. 
In a recent interview, the dude who used to go by Cliffy B explained why the Xbox 360′s two biggest gun-toters never got around to hanging out and shooting off rounds together. It’s not like Cliff wasn’t into the idea itself… but: “I actually approached Microsoft on getting Master Chief into the game, but those guys are kind of squeamish.” Though it’s not like Cliff doesn’t know why: “One of Halo’s successes is that it’s a soft M… Gears pushes it further. I’m creatively comfortable with that, though it can limit what you do. If you had to break it down, I’d say that Gears is like Mortal Kombat and Halo is like Street Fighter.” That’s actually quite the astute summation. And to be honest, one could perhaps creatively find an even ground for the two to interact with. Though Bleszinski clearly had his own ideas, which might have scared those protective of Master Cheif: “”if we were to get Master Chief, we’d get his model, put him in a COG suit, make it blow up, and do some test animation work. We’d have to see what his head looks like being blown to smithereens or how his arm would look getting sawed off.” Yeah, I don’t think you have to a MS executive to figure out how, given how they’ve gone to great lengths to make sure that we’ve never seen the Chief’s face in Halo, that the powers that be won’t want to see half of it… with the other half on a wall, or dripping from the ceiling. The Los Angeles Dodgers are in desperate times financially. That’s no secret as it’s been well documented over the last few years in the Frank and Jamie McCourt divorce hearings. But how bad is it? Well, come the end of May, it appears the Dodgers won’t have enough in the coffers to pay players. Oops. Based on its opening-day payroll of $103.8 million, the Dodgers’ payroll for its major league roster in the second half of May will be approximately $8.25 million. The figure includes 16 days salary, but not any signing bonus payments that happen to fall due. McCourt, involved in a contentious divorce, took a $30 million loan from Fox, the team’s television partner, in the weeks leading up to Selig’s decision to appoint a monitor. Baseball was concerned that McCourt was removing assets from the franchise, once considered one of the premier teams in the sport.
The team has been under the thumb of the commissioner since April 20th and essentially has agreed to pay whatever the Dodgers owe come the end of the month. But in the end, it’s not a sustainable practice and at some time in the near future, the team is going to need liquid assets to pay bills. | VIDEO: You could probably fap to this Genie Bra infomercial in a pinch Posted: 04 May 2011 12:00 PM PDT While the purpose of this entertaining infomercial for a product called the “Genie Bra” certainly isn’t to make guys like you go, “Mmm. Yeah. It is hard for you to find a bra, isn’t it?,” it’s probably unfair to deny the infomercial’s versatility for entertaining all genders and people.
The one thing that bothers me about the video is the claim that bras’ pokiness and discomfort is somehow men’s fault. I mean, sure, when bras were invented, men were the primary inventors and probably didn’t care much about women’s happiness. And it kind of makes sense that you’d want women to feel uncomfortable in bras so they’d be more likely to take them off. Hmm. Maybe these women are onto something.
